Finally, after having an empty pond liner sitting around for two and one half years looking something like this
I, in my wisdom spent last Wednesday thru Sunday, July 7,8,9,10,and 11, 2010, in temperatures ranging from 96 to 101, clearing weeds, digging hole, leveling liner, back filling hole,
carring and placeing 272 fieldstone pieces, filling pond, adding plants etc, etc, etc, and it turned out like this.
As you can see, there is still a little work to be done, but I'm tired.
If you have ever seen or even walked down the slope from my driveway to the back yard entrance of the fish room, you will know carring 1200 lbs. of field stone is no picinic.
I also had to load and unload these from my trunk.
I lost 20 lbs. but had some water and gained most of it back. |

WOW!!! Looks FABULOUS, Fishman! I don't know how you did it in that heat, but the extraordinary effort certainly shows in the extraordinary result!
Now, tell us what fish are in there! |

| Looks good, but wish you had buried the liner and then placed rocks to hide the top portion. The liner is a bit distracting. |

Because of the slope of the yard and the gully washes I get with every rain, doing it the way you suggested would just make one big mud puddle that would constantly flood over the sides and lose many plants and fish..
This is just a grow out container.
Compared to the first picture (the before) this is a 1000% improvement. |
