I am new to the Charlotte area, but not to fish keeping. I have kept nothing but saltwater tanks, but I'm now thinking about setting up a freshwater planted tank. Looking forward to finding out lots of info. on freshwater, since this forum seems mainly freshwater.

We have a few saltwater people here, but they dabble in it rather then it dominating their hobby. There are however lots and lots of plant gurus here, you should find great information from them. Especially MrJG.

Thanks for the welcome, yeah hula mom on carolina reefers is my wife. Yeah saltwater is the main denominator in this hobby for me, I have 3 saltwater tanks and one empty tank. I'm thinking hard about setting up the empty tank as a freshwater planted tank, I've seen so many beautifully planted tanks, might try my hand at it. Still doing a lot of reading and research though....
