Tanks drilled ? What will you be using for a water supply ? straight from the tap or a heat/treat resevoir ? _________________ The mind is like the stomach. It is not what you put into that counts but what it digests that counts. |

| Get drilled & use your typical irrigation drip system found at the local hardware stores. You can try hang on overflows but they aren't 100% reliable. |

| yup. you can drip or you can have a central sump or sumps and just drain/fill it for water changes. It sounds like difficult, but it's actually really simple. |

I use a semi automatic for my reef aquarium.
press a button. Pump comes on, (inside the refugium) takes water out.
press another button, flip a few valves, and water from my mixing tank goes in.
part of my DIY controll box. (industrial electrician over here )
(this is a DIY thread right... )

Can anyone explain this stuff in "english"?
yes that thing looks scary......
All I want to do is flip a switch from the tap and fill...not to hard to figure out...its the sucking/water changes I am having trouble with, I want to do it all in the same line. I m able to pump the water right out onto the yard into an exsisting drainage system.
Kinda like kevins set up without the bomb
you would think I would be able to figure this out (we are commerical GC)
I do know water doesn't run up hill.
I do not want to put all of my tanks on any kind of cental filter system, nor do I want to change water in some tanks every other day. I keep everything from Killies...to africans....to Discus..too many water differences and I am talking about keeping up with 40-50 tanks
Help!
If you have a system in place I am willing to drive to look
or keep explaining right here...... _________________ AKA Member

anything is possible, but it really comes down to what you budget is. automating water changes with each tank being seperate is going to be very costly.
I would recommend running several central systems, but you could always drill the tanks and run them to a drain and just drip fresh water in each tank. |

Drill each tank and put in some sort of standpipe. Something that will drain out excess water if the level gets too high. That should solve the water leaving. You just need to plumb it to go somewhere.
Then add in a pump, solenoid or a simple PVC valve to allow water in. Each solution has positives and negatives.
Repeat for each tank. |
